Swastik Handicraft Women Welfare Association (Samiti)

Swastik Handicraft Women Welfare Association (Samiti) (Further named as SHWWAS) is a NGO Registered with Govt. Of Madhya Pradesh in 2009 under the ministry of Commerce and industries and also registered under Govt. Of India Udyam (MSME) under IT act 1961-62.

SHWWAS works for women empowerment. Level of action is Regional, National and International. The main functionaries Mrs. Preeti Sathe and Mrs. Vaishali Sathe started SHWWAS as an NGO after a decade experience of working for deprived and Underprivileged women on a small scale.

The principle areas of working are- Education, Vocational Training & Skill Development, providing market for handicraft items made by the self help groups, to cater them with orders, organizing exhibition, to create opportunities for rural women for better living, to create awareness amongst the women regarding various beneficial schemes run by the government, to remove the evils prevalent in the society and to organize programs against drug additions, child marriage, dowery etc.

SHWWAS has a very strong bounding and understanding with more than 1000 women from Urban & Rural area of Ujjain & nearby.

These are divided into 10 teams (self help groups) making variety of handicraft products.
 

A team of 8 members on the board (Including President & Secretary) encourages, motivates and create opportunities for these help groups.
